

AGARTALA: A major road accident took place in the state of Tripura on Sunday. A commercial goods caring vehicle with several people onboard met with an accident leading to the injury of several people.
The accident took place in the Dakpara locality on the Udaipur-Killa road going via the Chechuria region in the Southern part of the state of Tripura. The vehicle reportedly lost control after its brakes failed and this led to the accident.
According to reports, many women and elderly people were onboard the ill-fated vehicle when the incident took place. They were returning home from a Baba Goria Puja hosted in the region when their vehicle met with an accident.
Local people rushed to the spot to help those injured in the accident. They also helped in moving the people to a nearby medical facility. Also, two of the nearly 15 injured are said to be in critical condition because of the accident.
The commercial vehicle which met with the accident bears the registration number TR 03 H 1743 and is said to have carried more than 15 people at the time of the accident.
In a tragic incident that took place in the morning hours of Wednesday, a journalist lost his life in a road accident that took place in the Beltola region of Guwahati. According to the police, the incident took place in the morning hours of Wednesday when the journalist was on his way to his office from his home on his two-wheeler. His vehicle was hit from behind by a city bus leading to the death of the person.
The journalist has been identified as Mushtaq Alam working with a media house in the city. He was moving from his home near Basistha Mandir towards his office on GS Road. The incident took place when a speeding city bus bearing registration number AS 01 HC 2629 hit the journalist from behind as it was trying to overtake him. Police personnel reached the spot of the accident almost immediately and seized the city bus.
